# Average Directional Index (ADX)
Average directional index with +DI and -DI: measures trend strength regardless of direction, with the DI lines showing which side leads.

## How to read it

- ADX above the threshold (25) means a trending market; below it, a weak or ranging one.
- +DI above -DI: buyers lead; -DI above +DI: sellers lead.
- A rising ADX means the trend is strengthening, whatever its direction.

## Key settings

- Period 14 (Wilder smoothing), trend threshold 25.
- Fill between +DI and -DI on.

## Good to know

- Drawn in its own pane below the chart.
